We’re paying them off with more of our precious jobs. Our leaders have already written off this generation. A panel of economists on Charlie Rose last night said as much. Panama “Free trade” deal is all about growing our very own tax shelter Banana Republic in North America. That’s why we shut down our ‘good friend’ Manuel Noriega back in the ‘80’s when he turned his protected stooge status against us. If they pass that Panama FTA I expect everyone from Karl Rove to Stephen Colbert to show up in Panama on a tourist visa with smuggled suitcases of bearer bonds and sipping margaritas. Obama is full of shit when he calls that or his fubar “patent reform bill” a US jobs policy. Its all about hiding payments of extortion money, corporate welfare, money laundering, and secret wars. Nothing to do with jobs.

Now the infrastructure bank idea has merit if it isn’t abused to further corrupt the construction industry and US labor market, as I blogged about on my Facebook last year. It needs to be $4-13 trillion and Obama’s $2-3 trillion proposal is too small to do any more than his stimulus bill did. If its used as a Congressional pork bank to build roads to nowhere in Alabama and bridges to nowhere in Alaska then there’s no more point in discussing it.

They’re both willing and able to cave on Medicare cuts “to continue supporting the troops and our Defense” just like Droopy Joe Lieberman. You know it used to be known as the “War Department” its not a “Defense Department” at all. It’s not about helping the troops at all. Its not about jobs at all. The fact that Obama finally got the torturer’s seal of approval from his kissing cousin Dick Cheney 6 months ago says it all. I thought Obama insulted the memory of those lost soldiers when he pivoted his speech Monday into being all about the generals.
