A public light-art installation created by Ivan Toth Depeña is up in Miami, Florida that uses infrared cameras to capture the moving images of commuters and translates that image into abstract, pixilated blocks of color and light. Columns filled with LED nodes are placed throughout the MetroRail hub of the Stephen Clark Government Center Lobby that encourage people to step right up and see their real-time reflection in the ethereal mirror. The permanently installed columns were commissioned by the Miami-Dade Art in Public Places initiative to encourage a sense of discovery in the visitors.
