Radiolab: A War We Need →
Radiolab in partnership with NPR has simulated “A War We Need” actually to fight (Unlike most of them)—-With ocean viruses attacking phytoplankton. The global ocean is more than a gigantic dumping ground for Mankind’s mistakes (Fukushima, BP spill). Consequently, it is also more than the sum of its microscopic parts.

Robert Reich: Romney-Trump in 2012! →
robertreich:
What could Romney’s handlers be thinking when they hyped his very public joint appearance with Donald Trump?
Trump signifies everything Romney presumably doesn’t want people to associate with himself — conspicuous wealth, arrogance, hubris, and a distinct preference for money over all other human values.
Trump, like Romney, represents almost everything that’s wrong with the...

I’m voting Third Party in 2012. Only problem is Illinois is throwing up more barriers to third parties like the article says. I believe Illinois is moving in a similar policy direction to what Pennsylvania did 10 years ago. It involves environmental deregulation, dissolution of local control, and consolidation of state government for big businesses setting up shop here after globalization....
Congress forcing Army to accept useless tanks — RT →
rtamerica:
How much of the US Defense Department’s budget is wasted each year? If the Pentagon’s current proposal for 2013 gets approved as is, at least $91 million can more or less be trashed thanks to an order for 33 unneeded Army tanks.

After Weinergate ended, a New York Times piece reported that two characters who had been interacting with Anthony Weiner on Twitter were actually “fake teens” who were being used to try to get information. Since then, most normal people stopped paying attention, and the story for those who were paying attention devolved into complete craziness.
A Great #MemorialDay for #USKleptocracy
Where to begin? Well how about David Borochoff’s work tracking down elusive fraudulent military charities? On CurrentTV’s The Young Turks this week Borochoff broke the story of a new charity scam that got away with skimming $56M meant for homeless veterans with mental disabilities. Disabled Veterans National Foundation (DVNF) together in partnership with the National Association of...

Local #MemorialDay story I'd like to see go viral →
Local Hardin County has a problem. Their sheriff died unexpectedly of cancer, probably due to excessive regional coal dust, fracking mine operations, or did I forget to mention the nuclear waste in nearby Paducah, KY and Metropolis, IL? The CDC already says we have higher than normal lung cancer rates though they won’t say why.
Anyway Local IL Republicans have decided to stonewall...

I guess this Memorial Day story is sexy enough for Drudge report to go viral, even though its not really about the exclusive Ex-Presidents Club.
